Urns are containers for cremated human remains (known as Cremains or Ashes), and remains from Aquamation.
A crematorium will return the Ashes in a basic urn. Depending on which crematorium, this may be a simple pine or synthetic wooden box, or a cylindrical cardboard Scatter Urn (with a convenient aperture for scattering the Ashes).
We have a stock of other urns for families who would prefer a ’smarter’ urn. This could be when Ashes will be lodged in a niche, buried, transported or sent by courier, or just kept by the family. We have the following types, illustrated below.
- Beautiful metal urns with screw caps, exuding an ancient grace.
- Handcrafted wooden urns, in a variety of South African timber.
- Ceramic/pottery urns (loose tops): unglazed terracotta and glazed patterned.
- Wicker urn (tied closed) – to match a wicker coffin.
